Hoyt Forms Pearl District Community “Race for the Cure” Team
“PinkPearls” Join the Fight Against Breast Cancer
Hoyt is proud to join the fight against breast cancer by organizing a community team to participate in the 17th Annual Komen Portland Race for the Cure. Tapping the spirit of the Pearl District, PinkPearls is a neighborhood-wide team dedicated to raising money to support breast cancer research, education and treatment.
“We are encouraging everyone who lives, works, or plays in the Pearl District to join PinkPearls and get involved in this year’s Race for the Cure,” said Marilyn Andersen, Principal Broker at Hoyt Realty Group. “It is an excellent way to support a great cause, get some exercise, and meet neighbors in the community.”
Taking place in hundreds of cities across the United States, the Komen Race for the Cure is an annual run/walk event that celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. The 2007 Komen Portland Race for the Cure will take place on Sunday, September 23 with over 50,000 runners, walkers, and volunteers expected to participate.
“We want to help support those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer,” said Andersen. “With several survivors living among us right here in the Pearl District, we are inspired to do our part in helping to find a cure.”
Following the 5K event, “Race for the Cure” participants and supporters are invited to join Hoyt and the Pearl District Business Association for the First Annual After Party in the Pearl. For more details about this special event, please click here.
